Spaghetti “Lasagna” Bake

This is an awesome recipe I found for spaghetti that’s prepared and tastes like lasagna. It’s an easy dinner to make beforehand, as long as you keep it in the fridge until you are ready to bake.

Here are most of the ingredients I used:

Ingredients

All the ingredients. Onion not pictured

Start off by putting a pot of water to boil and then breaking the spaghetti in half.

Uncooked Spaghetti

Once the water is boiling, cook the pasta. I cook mine 10 minutes and add oil and salt to the water. I don’t cook the spaghetti al dente for this recipe, so that it doesn’t soak up all the sauce.

Steamy pot

While cooking pasta, heat oil and cook onions for eight to ten minutes. Add minced garlic to the onions and cook for 1 more minute. Turn off the flame.

Cooking onions

Once the pasta is cooked, drain and set aside.

In the same pot as you cook the pasta, melt the butter. When melted, toss with pasta.

In the onion pan, add pasta sauce, cinnamon, onion & garlic powders, crushed red pepper, black pepper, and salt. Mix well. Set aside.

In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs and mix in cottage cheese. Set aside.

Now, it’s time to get out your 9×13 pan and start layering!

After you grease the pan, add half of the spaghetti. Then add half of the cottage cheese mixture, half of the pasta sauce mixture, then 2 cups of the mozzarella cheese.

Repeat.

Second layer. Ready for the oven!

Finally, cover the pan with foil and bake for 40 minutes at 350°.

Cover and bake

ENJOY! Sorry for not posting a final product picture. We were too busy digging in!

This recipe yields well around ten servings. Freeze for future leftovers!
